Downloading the Doc, converting it, printing it and taking it to the post office is five steps for one letter. The picker fetches the file you point at, converts it and prints it; the only step left is the address.

How to set it up

  1. 1On the send page, choose Upload → Choose from Google Drive and authorize read-only access once.
  2. 2Pick the Doc or PDF — Docs are converted to print-ready PDF automatically.
  3. 3Add recipient and return addresses; we verify both against USPS data.
  4. 4Pay with card, Apple Pay, or a prepaid credit code — mailed the next business day.
  5. 5Automating? The REST API accepts any fetchable pdf_url, and the Zapier/Make/n8n apps have Drive triggers built in.

Under the hood

The picker uses Google’s Picker API with a read-only scope — we fetch exactly the file you choose and nothing else, convert Docs to PDF server-side, and delete documents 30 days after delivery like every other letter.

Do Google Docs print well?

Yes — Docs convert to clean text-based PDFs, which is exactly what the printer wants. Preview is shown before you pay; we print exactly what the PDF shows.

What access does paperplane get to my Drive?

Read-only, and only the file you pick in the Google-hosted picker. We never list or scan your Drive, and the file is deleted 30 days after delivery.

Can I automate mail from a Drive folder?
