Set it up in Gemini CLI
Step 1
Connect
gemini mcp add --transport http paperplane https://sendpaperplane.com/api/mcpStep 2
Editing settings.json directly instead?
Use "httpUrl", not "url" — Gemini CLI reserves "url" for its older SSE transport.
Try it: free, nothing mailed
Tell your agent:
Using the paperplane tools, quote a 1-page certified letter to Property LLC, 1 Main St, Richmond VA 23220, then send it in sandbox mode. Not on Gemini CLI? Any surface works.
The same three calls from the CLI, any MCP client or plain REST. Sandbox is free and mails nothing.
gemini mcp add --transport http paperplane https://sendpaperplane.com/api/mcpCommon questions
Is there anything different about Gemini CLI’s config?
If you edit settings.json directly instead of using the CLI command, use "httpUrl" — Gemini CLI reserves the "url" field for its older SSE transport.
What tools does Gemini get?
The same as every other client: quote_letter, send_letter, and get_letter_status for mailing, plus buy_credits for pre-funding sends. Postcards (from $1.99) and the notecard ($5.99) are also live — quote_letter/send_letter take a format argument to reach them.
How much does sending cost?
Letters start at $1.99 for First-Class; Certified Mail starts at $12.99. Sandbox mode is free.
